Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Garland, TX · On-Site · Full-Time
Position Overview
Sunshine Hill Senior Assisted Living is seeking a full-time, compassionate, and dependable Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our care team in Garland, Texas. In this role, you will provide direct, hands-on care to our senior residents in a warm, residential home setting — playing a vital role in their physical comfort, emotional well-being, and overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and ambulation
- Provide compassionate personal care that preserves each resident's dignity, preferences, and independence
- Monitor and document residents' physical condition, behavior, and changes in health status; report promptly to supervising staff
- Assist with meal preparation, serving, and feeding as needed; encourage proper nutrition and hydration
- Support residents with mobility, transfers, and repositioning using proper body mechanics
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe living environment for all residents
- Participate in scheduled group activities, exercise programs, and recreational events
- Provide emotional support, companionship, and social engagement to residents
- Follow all infection control protocols and proper PPE use as required
- Communicate compassionately with residents' families and provide care updates
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of all care provided
- Respond appropriately and calmly to emergency situations following facility procedures
- Perform light housekeeping and laundry duties to maintain a comfortable home environment
Required Qualifications
- Current, valid CNA certification in the state of Texas (required)
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid COVID-19 vaccination card (required per facility policy)
- Genuine passion for working with seniors and commitment to person-centered care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; warm, patient, professional manner
- Physical ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents; ability to remain active throughout the shift
- Reliable and dependable with a strong work ethic
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in assisted living, memory care, SNF, or home care setting
- Experience with dementia/Alzheimer's memory care residents strongly preferred
- Familiarity with WanderGuard or similar elopement prevention systems
- CPR / First Aid certification
- Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply

- Shift schedules discussed during the interview process
- Weekend availability may be required
